Privacy Policy

By downloading and using Campfire, these terms will automatically apply to you, therefore you should make sure that you read them carefully.

This application is provided to you by Pandula Péter at no cost and is intended for use as is.

Last updated: 10 September 2026. This version covers Campfire 4.0 and later.

General overview

This page is used to inform you regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information if anyone decided to use my service.

Campfire is an offline app for viewing and editing song lyrics and chords. Your songs and setlists are ordinary ChordPro text files kept in the app's own storage on your device, and on the web in your browser's private storage for the site. There is no Campfire account and there is no server of mine involved anywhere: I never receive your songs, your settings or anything else about how you use the app.

Campfire contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind.

Information collection and use

Campfire does not have any data collection solution integrated, as a result, I am not collecting any personally identifiable information on purpose. However, keep in mind that some data collection mechanisms are beyond my control. For instance, just by downloading the application from the Google Play Store, you are automatically sharing some limited usage data and crash logs with me, the developer, as well as Google. You agreed to this when accepting the Play Services license agreement, over which I have no control whatsoever.

Cloud sync

Campfire can keep your library the same on several of your own devices by storing it in a cloud folder that belongs to you. This is switched off until you turn it on. Until you connect an account in the app's settings, Campfire makes no network requests at all, and if you never connect one, nothing in this section applies to you.

Sync currently supports Dropbox. When you connect it:

Anything stored in your Dropbox is subject to Dropbox's own privacy policy and terms, which are between you and Dropbox. Should Campfire gain support for another cloud service in the future, the same principles will apply to it and this page will be updated to name it.

Children’s privacy

These services do not address anyone under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided me with personal information, please contact me so that I will be able to do necessary actions.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

I may update my Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
